How to Naturally Take Care of Your Vision

All-natural isn’t a trend that’s going anywhere anytime soon. Here at our office, we have a variety of different ways that you can organically take care of your vision so that you continue to see life as clearly as possible. Let’s take a closer look at a few different things that you can follow.

Stay In Tune

One of the best, all natural things that you can do for your vision is to be in tune with it. For instance, are you noticing any changes in it? Are you having a harder time reding than you once did? Are you seeing flashes and floaters when you are trying to look at someone or if a light goes on? These are all signs that you need to come in for an eye exam.

Eat Well

Now that summer is here; there is virtually no excuse for you to eat poorly. Because fresh produce is so easily available and affordable, you should try to incorporate it into your daily routine. Fresh fruits and vegetables contain vitamins like vitamin A, Vitamin E, and Vitamin C; all of which help to promote stronger, clearer, and healthier vision.

Give Your Eyes a Rest

We live in a society where we spend most of our time in front of a screen and with studies showing that all of that blue light isn’t exactly doing your vision any favors, we have a solution for you: practice the 20-20-20 rule. We have talked about this rule on here before, but in our opinion, it’s important enough to repeat over and over again. Try taking a break from your screen every 20 minutes for 20 seconds and stare at least 20 feet in front of you. These frequent breaks will help reduce eye strain which is something that we all want.

Schedule Regular Eye Exams

Another thing that we encourage our patients to do is schedule regular eye exams. Depending on your vision health (whether you wear protective lenses or not) and your family history, we may recommend that you get more frequent eye exams.

Taking good care of your vision health doesn’t have to be difficult. Use these tips to help keep your eyes as healthy as possible. If you want to learn a little bit more, contact our Westborough or Salem offices and call us at 508-836-8733.
