What is Thermi?

Thermi is the world leader treatment in minimally invasive thermistor-regulated energy solutions for aesthetics, dermatology and women’s health.

What is ThermiRF?

The ThermiRF is a FDA-approved aesthetic device that uses temperature-controlled radio-frequency energy. ThermiRF helps doctors perform a number of non-surgical aesthetic procedures, including tightening of loose skin and wrinkle reduction. It is safe and effective for use on different areas of the face and body. The ThermiRF is a unique device since it can reach parts of the body that are typically harder to treat for body contouring, including the neck, arms, abdomen, and knees.

Ideal Candidate for a Thermi Treatment

Ideal candidates for treatment with the ThermiRF are generally healthy adult men or women who wish to tighten skin and reduce wrinkles. Patients who have previously undergone liposuction surgery and subsequently have developed noticeable lumps on the body may also benefit from this treatment. Prior to undergoing a ThermiRF procedure, a physical examination will be conducted and the patient’s medical history will be carefully reviewed. Patients with an underlying medical condition such as, heart disease with pacemakers or a substantial amount of excess fat may not be good candidates for ThermiRF treatments.

ThermiRF Procedure

ThermiRF is a minimally invasive procedure used to remove excess body fat and tighten and rejuvenate loose skin. A cannula is inserted under the patient’s skin through a small incision, and the handpiece of the device is held against the skin. The ThermiRF delivers radiofrequency, or RF, heat energy to the target tissue below the skin. The probe heats to a specific temperature causing the collagen to shrink and then to stimulate new collagen. The procedure takes generally 30-60 minutes.

Thermi Applications

Dr. Jean Keamy offers the following Thermi Applications:

  • ThermiSmooth (ThermiSmooth Body & ThermiSmooth Face)
  • Thermi Tight
  • ThermiVa

ThermiTight is a nonsurgical skin tightening procedure that can improve the skin’s appearance and provide a more contoured look. It is safe and effective for use on the face, neck, thighs, arms, abdomen and other areas of the body.

ThermiVa™ is an in-office, non-surgical procedure for skin tightening, used for dermatologic conditions. Excessive relaxation of the vaginal muscles is a common occurrence after a vaginal birth, or due to aging. Laxity of the skin is caused by numerous factors, and no area is immune to this natural decline.

Recovery from a Thermi Procedure

Generally speaking, most patients tolerate the ThermiRF treatment well and experience little to no discomfort during or after the procedure. Overall, recovery time will depend on how extensive the procedure was. After ThermiTight most patients are able to return to their normal activities, including exercise and work, within a few days. ThermiSmooth has no downtime.

ThermiSmooth uses an external hand-piece that delivers heat to the skin superficially. This heat reaches a target temperature to stimulate the production of new collagen below the surface of the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles around the eyes and mouth. It takes several treatments of ThermiSmooth to achieve the desired result.
